Google’s Freshness Algorithm Change Results

Google’s Freshness Algorithm Change update last week affected a third of all Google searches.

Sites that benefited from the change were sites with that have frequent updates. There are mostly content sites such as brand sites and news sites.  A number of travel sites  and some consumer sites with frequent updates.

The sites that saw their search engine ranking drop were a mixed group. It is interest that many were government or company websites that  have “old” pages.  These are pages that haven’t been updated recently.
